CDS Partners with Hickory Hill Community Center for School Supply Drive Print E-mail
September 18, 2012 - Central Defense Security (CDS), a leading provider of business, retail and warehouse security, announced it collected more than $1,000 in essential school supplies from employees, client partners and the community during its recent efforts with the Hickory Hill Community Center. CDS partnered with the community center to collect donations throughout the summer to help ensure that underprivileged students at five Memphis schools were equipped with the necessary supplies for the new school year.

“It was such a pleasure to help students and some of our CDS families kick off what is sure to be a great school year,” said Larry Carroll, Chief Operating Officer at Central Defense Security. “We were overwhelmed by the amount of support we received from our very generous clients and partners. We look forward to expanding our community efforts and strengthening our partnership with the City of Memphis in the years to come.”

During the summer-long drive, CDS employees, clients and partners were encouraged to participate by donating new supplies or making a monetary contribution to the effort. In total, CDS was able to fill dozens of backpacks with notebook paper, pencils, pens and other necessary supplies, which were distributed to 20 of CDS’ officers and 100 students at Crump Elementary, Hickory Hill Elementary, Hickory Ridge Middle, Kirby High and Ridgeway High.

“We’re extremely grateful for our partnership with Central Defense Security, whose efforts have greatly impacted the students who use our facility throughout the year,” said Margaret Fluckers, Director of Hickory Hill Community Center.
